Erectile dysfunction medicines seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A man was interviewed by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications by means of the .

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is vital that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be unsafe.

"These kinds of products being offered, typically online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not know the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
